To Be Had At Westvilles Halloween
Children 12 and Under and Their Parents Invited to Attend
LUMPKIN, GA. - Westville, an 1850s living history museum, is offering a scare that will span the centuries--bridging the ghosts of old with the spooks of today during its Halloween haunt. Those who dare linger until sundown on Thursday, October 26 will encounter bone-chilling fun and excitement geared toward children 12 and under.
Beginning at 5 p.m., children accompanied by a adult are invited to brave the shadows of the mid-19th century town as they enjoy Halloween games of Pumpkin Runs, Jack-O-Lantern Catch, Fishing for Apples, and Pumpkin Ring Toss. Next, visitors can slip off for Trick-or-Treating from building to building and the Costume Contest. Highlighting the evening is a hair-raising rendition of the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," sure to encourage a constant look-out for the headless horseman rumored to be roaming the historic streets of Westville.
A specially concocted witches' brew and other treats offer a tasty side-bar to the activities. Frazzled nerves can also be soothed at the bonfire, rounding out the events of the evening in a glowing way.
Specially priced tickets for the Halloween celebration are $1 per person. For more information call toll-free 1-888-SEE-1850 or access Westville's web site at www.westville.org.
