Home School Day

You Are Invited! Come join us for Home School Day! Especially designed for homeschool families! Spend a day enjoying activities of daily life in the mid 19th century. Activities may include sewing clothes, blacksmithing, tinsmithing, basketweaving, paper-marbling, quilting, woodworking, spinning, cultivating, open hearth cooking, and 19th century games. We have a Special Homeschool Day Menu for you! Homeschool families MUST pre-register for this event! Struggles of Secession (Westville's Civil War Days)

The village will be transformed into a Civil War town as hundreds of re-enactors portray life in a Georgia town. Visit with soldiers and villagers as they go through their daily lives during wartime. Fall Harvest Days

Come and enjoy an 1850 autumn celebration. Activities include cotton gin operating, sugar cane syrup being made, candle making, soap making, hay stacking, corn shelling, games from the past and plenty of country cooking. November 12-13
Dred Scott Trial

Schools participate in the trial of the 19th Century.  The decision from this landmark trial was one of the contributing issues that helped to plunge the United States into civil war. Schools MUST call to pre-register for this program!

Christmas Decorating Workshop

Decorating Westville with natural greenery for the Christmas Season. Learning and fun. All greenery supplied - bring snippers.

December 11
Christmas by Candlelight Special hours of operation: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST

Magical is the word for this holiday event. Breathtaking displays of greenery with the sparkle and warmth of candles flickering throughout the village. Christmas customs of Germany, Scotland, and England come to life as visitors journey through time. End the evening with the beautiful "Lighting of the Lamps" procession through the village with Father Christmas.
