We have designed this portion of our web site for teachers. This reflects our feelings about the importance of teachers to Westville.

The idea that became Westville was a teacher's idea. Col. John West was a history professor at North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Georgia when he began his collection of artifacts from the middle of the 19th century. His intent was for his collection to be the nucleus of an outdoor museum where students could come to glean information about this period that they couldn't experience in any other way.

As Westville became a reality and during its subsequent growth Col. West's purpose has remained tantamount. It is foremost a place for teachers to bring students.

If you are a teacher, we are offering a free day at Westville for you and a friend to become acquainted with us. To take advantage of this offer call Westville at 1-888-SEE-1850.
